Description

A plain SSL channel flips every time price closes through it, which on a choppy synthetic index means a new arrow every few candles. This free SSL channel indicator for MT5 keeps the SSL channel at its core – one moving average of the highs, one of the lows – but treats each flip as a candidate rather than a signal. An arrow only prints when momentum, trend strength and channel width agree, and every arrow carries a 0 to 100 score and a grade from A+ to D, so a label such as BUY [A] 84% tells you how much is behind the move before you act.

A BUY needs four things on the closed candle: the SSL trend flipping from bearish to bullish, RSI(14) above 50, DI+ above DI- with ADX(14) above its threshold, and a channel at least a set number of ATRs wide. An optional higher-timeframe check adds a fifth: the SSL trend on, for example, H1 must already point the same way, read from the last completed higher-timeframe candle only. SELL is the mirror image. Three signal profiles – Responsive, Balanced and Selective – raise the ADX, width and minimum-score bars in steps, so you choose between more signals and stricter ones.

The score is built from five parts: price action (25 points, including how far the close broke beyond the channel and where it closed in its range), RSI momentum (20), ADX and DMI dominance (25), relative tick volume (15) and channel expansion (15). Points come off for a long opposing wick and for a close stretched more than two ATRs from the SSL line, which is where late entries usually go wrong. Grades run A+ from 90, A from 80, B from 70, C from 60 and D below.

Drop it on a Deriv chart and it reads the symbol. Volatility (including the 1s indices), Boom, Crash, Jump, Step, Range Break, DEX, Drift Switch and the Vol-over-Boom/Crash hybrids each get their own SSL length, ADX, width and score adjustments, and gold and forex pairs are recognised too. It then measures how noisy that symbol is on your timeframe by comparing its price path with a random walk, lengthening the SSL on choppy markets and shortening it on trending ones. A live speed check compares ATR(14) with its long-run average on every candle, tightening the thresholds when the market runs fast and relaxing them when it goes quiet. Switch auto-tune off and the original settings come back.

On Boom, Crash, Jump and DEX indices, a spike candle is capped before it reaches ATR and DMI, so a single spike cannot inflate them, and a flip caused by a spike does not fire a signal in the spike direction. Deriv synthetics also tick at a near-constant rate, so tick volume carries no information there; the indicator detects this and scores volume as neutral instead of rewarding noise.

Nothing repaints. Signals are evaluated on closed candles only and the forming candle never carries one, so an arrow does not appear and then vanish. A compact panel shows the detected market, the measured time between ticks, live speed and noise, the active SSL length and thresholds, and the current trend with its confidence grade. Alerts fire once per closed candle for confirmed signals, with optional SSL-flip and trend-weakening alerts, by popup, push notification or sound. Buy score, sell score, trend confidence, signal direction and SSL state are all exposed as buffers, so an Expert Advisor can read them through iCustom.

Single self-contained .mq5 with no includes, plus a README covering installation, the market table, every input and the buffer map. Free MT5 download. Educational tool, not financial advice.

Works well with Forex Momentum Universal MT5 – the SSL Matrix gives you a graded trend flip, the Fisher oscillator confirms that momentum is crossing the same way.
